Terms of Use

Last updated: July 6, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and bXb worX for using Tapesmith. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to them.

1. License

Tapesmith is licensed, not sold. When you buy a license, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Tapesmith on the number of Macs included in your license tier (one Mac for Tapesmith, two Macs for Tapesmith Studio) for your own creative work.

2. Free trial

Tapesmith offers a free trial. When the trial ends, a paid license is required to keep using the app.

3. What you may not do

4. Your content is yours

You own everything you record, edit, and export with Tapesmith. We claim no rights to it and never receive it. You are solely responsible for your content, including getting any consent needed to record other people and complying with the rules of any service you publish or stream to.

5. Our ownership

bXb worX owns Tapesmith and all intellectual property in the app, the name, and the branding. These terms do not transfer any of that to you beyond the license above.

6. Updates

Your license includes free updates up to, but not including, the next major version. Future major versions may be offered as a separate purchase.

7. No warranty

Tapesmith is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will never lose a recording.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, bXb worX is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost recordings, lost profits, or lost data, arising from your use of Tapesmith. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for your license.

9. Termination

This license ends automatically if you break these terms. You may stop using Tapesmith at any time.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
